Our Story

How it all started...

Thrive was born out of a question that resonated in the heart of our Pastor and his wife, “What would happen if we lived out what Jesus taught in the everyday rhythms of our life?” How would that reshape how we form disciples? Our conviction was that the church would need to restructure itself around creating spaces for people to live out their God given identity within a community context by meeting in homes and sharing a meal. The best discipleship happens in the middle of the mess and chaos of everyday life. It takes incredible sacrifice and commitment to reorient your life around the Gospel, but nothing is more rewarding.

Expanding the vision...

We hope that being a part of our church is unlike anything you have ever experienced. That you would find a spiritual family of best friends, that challenge you to not just learn the Jesus stuff, but actually live it. We have discovered that there are three critical spaces that every believer needs to grow and thrive: the Sunday gathering, a missional community, and a D group. The Sunday gathering is an opportunity for the whole church to come together and worship our Savior King and be encouraged and equipped by his Word. While vitally important, it simply is not enough for Christians to grow into mature believers. Our primary discipleship space is though Missional Communities. Each MC offers experiential style learning on how to live out the Gospel in the everyday stuff of life as a community. Living out your faith as a parent, spouse, neighbor, coworker, and friend can be difficult to navigate, MC will not just help you do it, but give you a group of people to do it with you. Lastly, D groups meet together to learn tools to follow the way of Jesus and hold each other accountable. It can be helpful to think of the three spaces as: teaching, modeling, and apprenticing.

Where we are headed...

We will settle for nothing less than a move of God in our city.We are praying for an awakening in our lives, in our church, in our city, and across our nation.

We have a God-sized goal to see 1000 missional community groups spring up all across OKC, and plant ten new churches.  We are not measuring success by our seating capacity, but by our sending capacity. Our passion is for identifying leaders, cultivating their ability and sending them out to start missional community groups, plant churches, and reach the nations. Will you join us?

Be a part of our story...

Join us every Sunday as we gather to worship together at 10:32a or for a missional community group in locations all across our city at 6:32 every Thursday.
